Authorized Impressions

All impressions within the unit must be civilian in nature, military impressions are not allowed.

We are mainly concerned with the portrayal of the average Jane and average Joe; those unsung volunteer heroes of the USO, whose combined efforts were nothing short of herculean and their impact monumentally important to the nation's war effort. We neither portray pin-up girls nor Hollywood stars.

• USO Staff & Volunteers

• USO Founding Agencies within the context of the USO

  • Salvation Army

  • Jewish Welfare Board

  • National Catholic Community Services

  • YMCA

  • YWCA

  • National Traveler's Aid Association

• War Industry Workers

• Civilian Clergy

• Secondary Impressions

  • Civilian correspondent or reporter

  • Government Worker / Public Employee

  • Any agency, association or business that had dealings with and co-operated with the USO

  • General Civilian

• Persons under the age of 18 years may not portray USO Staff / Volunteers of any kind and must have a general civilian impression appropriate to their age.

• For persons age 18 years or older impressions should be age appropriate, within reason.
